Tim's latest seminar:

What's in it for me?

One thing all college students will eventually share is a job search. For some it may come before they leave school, for others it won’t come until after graduate study, but the day will come for every one of them. Sadly, nearly all will be woefully unprepared for the reality of what it takes to get a job. The vast majority of job applicants are so focused on what they want that they lose track of what something far more important that will lead to a job offer faster: What does the person interviewing you want?

What’s in it for me? is a program developed by a real manager from the real world. It comes from the unique perspective of the person who actually hires people – not the campus placement office or the human resources department, but a real boss. And it all comes down to this one guiding principal: What’s in it for me?

This lecture is filled with “head-slap moments,” those times when you hear someone say something and you slap your head thinking, “I should’ve thought of that!” It shares specific techniques and principals job seekers can employ right away. They’re all based on the notion that people looking for jobs are working the same process as sales people. Therefore, using the techniques that professional sales people use will get you to your destination that much faster.
